Princess Cut

A very popular choice at Damasci, are the three-stone engagement rings, consisting of a dazzling Centre diamond set with side diamonds, enhancing the center stone size and brilliance.

To add greater depth and drama, the center stone is often set higher than the side stones. Round, brilliant cut center diamonds are unrivaled classics as center stone mounts while princess cut and other fancy shaped diamonds are steadily gaining in popularity.

In order to highlight the center stone, a variety of setting techniques are employed, including the traditional prong, bezel and basket setting, as well as Damasci’s exclusive V-shaped Amira and double prong clase de real settings.

Cushion Cut

A single or double row of intricately set, shimmering diamonds surrounds a center stone of significance, creating the effect of a larger diamond or gemstone. A true classic in the engagement ring world, the halo style has been a favorite of many a bride-to-be.

At Damasci we are pleased to offer our Arosa Halo Collection, accommodating all diamond center stone shapes and sizes, as well as customizing the proportions of the halo to suit your preference.

Heart-Shaped Diamond

The heart shaped diamond, considered one of the most romantic in appeal, has long been a symbol of everlasting love. Popular both in pendants and rings, its symmetry is of great importance since both halves must be identical in appearance, with a distinct and sharply defined cleft. For pendants, customer prefers a slightly narrower silhouette and for solitaire rings a somewhat wider look is preferable. The heart shaped diamond, with 56 – 58 facets, is renowned for its superior brilliance.

Emerald Cut

The vintage-style engagement ring offers wistful, old world charm and the warmth of an earlier era. The unique beauty of vintage rings, with hand-etched detail, derives from intricate craftsmanship, combined with the enduring contemporary techniques of today’s engagement ring settings. The diamonds used in these rings are cut to maximize their brilliance and fire, assuring Damasci customers the very best of the modern and vintage world.

Damasci artisans offer a number of handcrafted vintage styles to choose from, which can accommodate a variety of diamond center-stone shapes. With a unique approach to crafting exclusive vintage designs, Damasci is proud to showcase the Vintage Eterna Collection, sure to please the most discerning of clientele.

Asscher Cut

Side-stone accent engagement rings are all about enhancement. Their center diamond, flanked with smaller diamonds on either side, creates an overall impression of richness and radiant beauty, while the side stones add sparkle while giving the appearance of a larger center stone.

All diamond shapes can be employed but round brilliant as well as princess cut diamonds tend to be the center stone shape of choice.

The techniques most often used for the side stone enhancements include pave, channel, serrated, open-wall and Damasci’s signature paradise setting

Pear-Shaped Diamond

The 58 faceted Pear shaped diamond, resembling a tear drop, combines the classic Round Brilliant and Marquise shape. Having a single point and rounded end, the ideal pear shape is uniform and symmetrical with all lines being well curved. Containing the same number of facets as a round brilliant but unusual in shape, the play of light still dazzles the eye.

Selecting elongated proportions of a pear shape diamond creates a subtle slimming effect on the fingers. To better understand how the diamond ratios will appear when viewed face-up, refer to our diamond detail page. For the absolute classic look of a Pear shaped diamond, consider the length-to-width ratio between 1.45 and 1.70.

Oval Cut

Originally created in the 1960’s, the oval shape diamond is a modified Round Brilliant cut of beautifully symmetrical proportions. With 58 facets, the Oval diamond possesses both fire and brilliance, similar to the Round Brilliant. The oval diamond with its elongated shape tends to appear somewhat larger on a smaller hand while having a sliming effect on a larger hand, due to its pleasingly elongated shape.

The Oval cut may be of varying width and one’s final choice is a personal one. When surrounded on either side by diamonds, a narrower oval tends to have a pleasing effect on the eye. To determine the look of the diamond’s shape from above, refer to our diamond detailed page. For the most traditional look of a Oval shaped diamond, consider the length-to-width ratio between 1.33 and 1.65.
